VU Blazers falls 5-4 to College of Dupage Chaparrals

Daniel Sanders did all he could to give the Blazers a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past College of Dupage Chaparrals, as the Blazers lost 5-4 at Jerry Blemker Field on Friday. Daniel racked up three RBIs on two hits for the VU Blazers. He tripled in the sixth and eighth innings. The Chaparrals never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring five runs on an RBI double and three singles. One run in the bottom of the sixth helped the Blazers close its deficit to 5-1. An RBI triple by Daniel Sanders gave the Blazers life. But, Chaparrals pitcher got Robbie Doring to ground out to end the inning. One run in the bottom of the seventh helped the Blazers close its deficit to 5-2. A sacrifice fly by Logan Coughlin fueled the Blazers' comeback. Two Blazers runs crossed the plate in the bottom half of the eighth, making the score 5-4. A two-run triple by Daniel triggered the Blazers' comeback. Finally, Adams got Lance Myers to fly out to end the threat.
